diaNEOsis, Greece

diaNEOsis is a non-profit organization and an emerging think tank based in Athens, Greece, which aims to fund studies with the goal to catalyze growth and ensure social cohesion in the country. Its aim is to foster all forms of informed public dialogue and shape concrete proposals that contribute to the resolution of the critical economic and social problems currently Greece is facing. Activities focus on the key sectors of the economy, politics, technology and justice, seeking to put forward informed, documented, innovative and, above all, practical proposals for dealing with the issues concerning our society.


Panos Tsakloglou

Panos Tsakloglou is Professor in the Department of International and European Economic Studies of the Athens University of Economics and Business and Board Member of diaNEOsis. He is also Research Fellow of the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA, Bonn) and Senior Research Fellow of the Hellenic Observatory (LSE, London). His research focuses on aspects of the Economics of Social Policy (inequality, poverty, social exclusion and the redistributive role of the state) and Labour Economics (returns to human capital and determinants of youth unemployment). He has published over eighty five articles in scholarly journals and contributions to collective volumes, participated in a large number of conferences and workshops and has been a partner in over forty five international and national research and consultancy projects.

Kyriakos Pierrakakis

Kyriakos Pierrakakis is the Director of Research of diaNEOsis. His research interests lie in the areas of international political economy, regulatory policy, political science and technology policy. Mr. Pierrakakis is a PhD student at UHEI where he is supervised by Professor Dr Jale Tosun. He is also a graduate of MIT's Engineering Systems Division (Master in Technology Policy), of the Harvard Kennedy School (Master in Public Policy) and of the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Asimina Christoforou

Asimina Christoforou holds a PhD from the Athens University of Economics and Business and she is currently Adjunct Professor in the Department of International and European Economic Studies of this University. Her main research interests are in the field of trust and social capital and their impact in promoting economic growth as well as economic and non-economic dimensions of well-being.

Fay Makantasi

Fay Makantasi is an Adjunct Professor both in the Department of Economics and the Department of Accounting & Finance of Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and the Research Analyst of diaNEOsis.
Her major fields of concentration are Customs Unions, International Trade Theory and Policy, Industrial Organization, Game Theory and Competition Policy.
